DANGER CLUB #3 — Meet the creators this Satuday, get an EXCLUSIVE Third Eye Comics variant cover & more!
Read more to find out why this is a book you must be reading!

This Saturday is our huge signing with DANGER CLUB creators LANDRY Q WALKER and ERIC JONES, and folks, we are super excited about this event, just like we know many of you are as well.
Eric Jones has been awesome enough to put together a special custom cover together for Third Eye that will only be available at Third Eye Comics, and is a very limited number of copies.
With both the first and second issues of DANGER CLUB going into multiple printings, and selling out nationwide, you can bet that this variant is going to be sought after all over, and we’re making sure you guys are able to get first crack at it!
Now, before we go on and on about what we have planned for this event, lets stop for a second, and talk about WHY we’re so jazzed on DANGER CLUB, and why we think you need to be reading this killer new IMAGE series.
The story starts with all of the world’s superheroes getting killed off by an extraterrestrial threat that may still be on it’s way to Earth.
Yes, all those cosmic crisis events that we’re so used to seeing in superhero comics has finally done the impossible: it’s taken out the mightiest champions of the planet Earth.
And, what’s left behind is the sidekicks of these heroes, the teenage kids who possess the powers of gods, but lack the experience, or world knowledge to properly harness these abilities.
Right from the start of issue #1, we’re thrown into the action, as Apollo, the SUPERBOY analog, has flipped his lid, and taken a very PLUTONIAN approach, as he looks to make himself a God above the rest of the heroes and humanity at large.
Of course, this doesn’t jibe well with KID VIGILANTE, the ROBIN / TIM DRAKE analog of the book, and the two throw down in a major, bloody, and violent way.
Make no mistake, this is a bloody book, folks, and the stellar artwork of Jones, with the solid storytelling of Walker, really conjures up a very INVINCIBLE meets WATCHMEN kind of vibe here.
The tension of a world about to explode, ticking away, with only the sidekicks of it’s once protectors to save it, brings a very dark, and WATCHMEN kind of feel to it, while the modern, cutting edge storytelling, and clever takes on the characters makes us think of Mark Millar’s KICK-ASS.
Both issue #1 and #2 have had some really great shock moments, which really make the book unpredictable, and completely fun to read.
I personally cannot wait to read issue #3 this week, and folks, I highly recommend you snag issues #1 and #2, and get caught up for this week’s #3.
We currently have issues 1 & 2 in stock, and will have #3 this Wednesday.

BEFORE WATCHMEN: NITE-OWL #1 — BEFORE WATCHMEN continues to impress as Father and Son, Joe and Andy Kubert team up with SUPERMAN: EARTH ONE writer J. MICHAEL STRACZYNSKI to continue the awesomeness of BEFORE WATCHMEN!
BEFORE WATCHMEN has, in our opinion, been a resounding success so far, as it’s delivered some stunningly great reads that further expand and explore the world of WATCHMEN.
We loved the heck out of MINUTEMEN by DARWYN COOKE, we thought that SILK SPECTRE was a stand-out surprise that delivered one of our favorite reads, and holy crap, was COMEDIAN good or what, last week?
Now, the critically acclaimed J.Michael Straczynski (SUPERMAN EARTH ONE, THOR, SUPREME POWER, RISING STARS, THE TWELVE) pairs up with a father son power-house duo of ANDY KUBERT and JOE KUBERT to tell the tale of one of Watchmen’s most underrated, yet vastly fascinating characters: Nite-Owl.
This one is shrouded in mystery, and is the one we’ve seen very little advance coverage of, but, with how interesting both the original Nite Owl and his successor were, paired up with this dynamite creative team, we really think that this one is going to be a fantastic read.
Plus, how can you go long with a book where the preview text starts with ‘And today the hero known to the public only as Nite Owl announced his retirement today.’
As another vital part of the WATCHMEN mythology, NITE OWL explores what happens in those formative years before the now classic WATCHMEN story.
Wanna get on board these series? We’ve got BEFORE WATCHMEN MINUTEMEN, SILK SPECTRE, AND THE COMEDIAN all in stock and available now to get you up to speed.

FATALE TP VOL.1 DEATH CHASES ME & FATALE #6 BOTH ARRIVE THIS WEEK — A PERFECT BLEND OF CRIME NOIR AND SUPERNATURAL HORROR.. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS GREAT BOOK, SNAG THE FIRST TRADE THIS WEEK AT THIRD EYE!

FATALE VOL.1 DEATH CHASES ME drops this week, delivering the first five issues of one of our biggest Third Eye favorites from IMAGE in quite some time, and folks, if you haven’t yet gotten into this series, YOU HAVE GOT TO check it out.
Trust us: you will love every second of it. A perfect blend of supernatural horror, and Lovecraftian mythos with the crime noir style that Brubaker and Phillips have damn well perfected, FATALE delivers a compelling look at the “femme fatale” arch-type that’s so prevalent in genre fiction.
Following the parallel stories of a crooked police officer in the past, and the reporter who’s investigated his story, and how they’re both tied to the same immortal, ageless beauty that is leading both men to their doom.
Filled with Cthulhu-esque baddies, cultists, ritual murder, and gangsters that just so happen to be demons… FATALE really does do an amazing job of mixing the worlds of horror and crime noir into one fantastic package.

Also dropping this week, we’ve got FATALE #6, which is the first issue to pick up after FATALE VOL.1 trade paperback, and well, is the perfect opportunity for you to jump from the trade paperback to the monthly series.
Seriously though, if you’d prefer to follow this amazing series in single issues, we’ve got issues 1-5 in stock and available now to catch you up to speed to this week’s #6.
Either way, folks, trust us: FATALE is must-read material, and we cannot recommend the series enough.

SPIDER-MEN #2 – The INCREDIBLE crossover between AMAZING SPIDER-MAN of the regular 616 Marvel Universe and ULTIMATE Spider-Man, MILES MORALES, continues this Wednesday!
The second issue of SPIDER-MEN hits this week, and folks, we can’t tell you enough: this series is so freakin’ cool, it’s not even funny.
With AVENGERS VS XMEN and ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN writer BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS handling the writing chores, and ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN artist SARA PICHELLI handling the art chores, this book not only reads great, but it looks great too. Incredible storytelling, incredible artwork, SPIDER-MEN is top notch in every way.
With the first issue showing us Peter stumbling into the ULTIMATE Mysterio, who is quite shaken by seeing the hero he thought had died, and then subsequently falling into a portal that drops him in.. you guessed it, the ULTIMATE UNIVERSE.
It’s pretty interesting seeing how many of the characters refer to Peter Parker, and his death, and seeing how Spidey reacts to that, and with the last page ending with Miles and Peter coming face to face, we cannot wait to read issue #2, after the initial set-up of #1.
Stellar stuff, Third Eye Faithful, make sure to jump on board this one this week at Third Eye!

STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION / DOCTOR WHO ASSIMILATION 2 #2 ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY!
Star Trek The Next Generation / Doctor Who Assimilation2 continues this week, and folks, we gotta tell you: this is fantastic stuff.
I mean, once you get past the obvious: it’s Star Trek, it’s Doctor Who, and that alone, is AWESOME. But, seriously, once past that, the story, and artwork in this run is INCREDIBLE.
As the story continues, we see the alliance that’s forging between the Borg and the Cybermen (what a perfect pairing, right?), and how it’s putting the crew of the Enterprise, and the Doctor himself into quite a panic.
Stellar stuff, Third Eye Faithful, if you missed the red-hot issue #1, don’t sweat it, we’ve got plenty of copies of STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION / DOCTOR WHO #1 in stock to catch you up to this week’s #2.

JUSTICE LEAGUE #10 arrives this Wednesday delivering another powerhouse of GEOFF JOHNS and JIM LEE awesomeness. The flagship of the NEW 52 continues to impress!

In last month’s JUSTICE LEAGUE #9, JIM LEE debuted a brand new villain, as a new arc, THE VILLAIN’S JOURNEY began, and now, in this week’s issue #10 (the second part of VILLAIN’S JOURNEY), we’re going to learn just who this deadly new foe, and what his motivations are.
And, that, Third Eye Faithful, is only one of the many reasons why we’re excited for this week’s JUSTICE LEAGUE.
I mean, there’s no denying, JUSTICE LEAGUE is really one of the best damn new series in the NEW 52, as it serves as the flagship, foundation-building core of the entire DC UNIVERSE.
Set several years in the past of the NEW 52, this is where we learn of the earliest days of SUPERMAN, BATMAN, WONDER WOMAN, and more. And, with the back-up story in each issue featuring the NEW 52 origins and debut of SHAZAM, with art by GARY FRANK… hot damn, this book is a powerhouse of comic book goodness.
Wanna get caught up? We’ve got issues 1-9 in stock now to catch you up to this Wednesday’s #10.

MANHATTAN PROJECTS #4 — Jonathan Hickman’s incredible, alt-history sci-fi epic continues to impress!

Jonathan Hickman and Nick Pitarra are doing one hell of an excellent job with their new IMAGE series MANHATTAN PROJECTS, and we really cannot get enough of this killer book.
An ongoing series, which takes a very cool alt-history position on sci-fi, MANHATTAN PROJECTS features the idea that the Atom Bomb is the least of our worries, and there are things that are far more freakier that are being researched, and built in those bunkers beneath the surface of the Earth.
Weaving a science fiction story using prominent figures from history, ranging from Martin Oppenheimer to Albert Einstein, Hickman does a fantastic job of really putting together a compelling tale with MANHATTAN PROJECTS.
This is a dark, fascinating book that we just cannot get enough of, and it’s not just Hickman’s incredible writing that makes it so damn appealing. The inclusion of Nick Pitarra as artist is also fantastic, as his work is top notch, and really does a great job of pulling you further and further into the world that Hickman is crafting.
Wanna get caught up? Snag issues 1-3 in stock now, and jump aboard #4 this Wednesday.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #688 *THE LIZARD RETURNS CHAPTER ONE*HITS THIS WEDNESDAY, DELIVERING THE PERFECT JUMPING ON POINT TO ONE OF MARVEL’S CONSISTENTLY BEST BOOKS!

GET JIRO — ANTHONY BOURDAIN writes a GRAPHIC NOVEL, with this AMAZING book that mixes a dose of violent satire, celebrity chef culture, and classic Samurai tales that harken back to AKIRA KUROSAWA.
GET THIS!

Normally, celebrities and comics don’t mix too well; but we can gladly say that GET JIRO breaks that streak in a major way.
Anthony Bourdain shows that he’s got some serious comic fan roots, as he brings us a fascinating Vertigo graphic novel that mixes foodie and celebrity chef culture with classic Samurai tales in a way that is darkly humorous, crazy violent, and a total blast to read.
We love the artwork by Langdon Foss which gives the book a very Eurocomics feel, and reminds us a lot of Darrow or Moebius.
The story is set in the future, where all entertainment is dominated by celebrity chef and food shows, day and night. And, in this world, is Jiro, a traditional sushi maker who practices his art in a rundown little shop.
Jiro finds himself caught between a war with the big-box fast food junk restaurants and the organic, vegan/hippie food culture that cashes in on every trend that becomes popular, and in the end, is working both sides to clear the playing field for the smaller, restaurants who still treat their cooking like an art.
GET JIRO is a blast to read, and Bourdain manages to take something he is very knowledgeable about, and weave it into a fascinating story.
We recommend giving this one a shot, especially if you’re a fan of series like CHEW, we think you’ll dig the quirky vibe, and solid storytelling, in a major way.

BATMAN INCORPORATED #2 — Grant Morrison and Chris Burnham RULE on this killer new incarnation of Morrison’s BATMAN INC.
The best MORRISON Batman we’ve read since BATMAN AND ROBIN with FRANK QUITELY!

While we loved the first run of BATMAN INC, that was pre-NEW 52, we really have an even better feeling about the awesomeness that is the new BATMAN INCORPORATED that is part of the NEW 52.
I’m not sure what it is, but Morrison and Burnham feel so focused on this one, and they’re really channeling all the things that we love about a great Morrison comic.
The first issue had a ton of stuff going on, but it all flowed perfectly, ending with a fantastic cliffhanger, and leaving us on the edge of our seats. Morrison is definitely on a BATMAN AND ROBIN kinda tip, much like his initial run with Quitely, as he brings the dark, occult super-criminals known as the Goat into the spotlight.
Heck, one of the coolest things about the first issue of the new BATMAN INC was the subtle reference to FRANK MILLER’s mutants from DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. To see this gang being used in the regular world of BATMAN, in what could be their earliest years.. that’s pretty darn neat, right?
In this week’s issue #2, Morrison is channeling his inner Neal Adams and Denny O’Neil as he focuses on the femme fatale Talia al Ghul, telling an origin story for the iconic character in a defining way, showing us how she became the woman she is and what it’s like to be the privileged daughter of one of the most dangerous, and yes, important men in the world.
Chris Burnham’s art on this looks stunning, and he definitely draws Talia as the ultimate daughter of the ultimate bad guy.
Folks, BATMAN INCORPORATED is pure comic book bliss, and if you want to read a book that captures everything that is RIGHT about the world of comics, this is it.
Wanna get caught up? Snag a copy of BATMAN INCORPORATED #1, still in stock, and hop aboard!

HIT-GIRL #1 DROPS THIS WEDNESDAY, GIVING THE FAN-FAVORITE OF KICK-ASS HER OWN ULTRA-VIOLENT LIMITED SERIES!

This Wednesday marks the release of MARK MILLAR’S new HIT-GIRL series, and folks, we could not be more stoked about this one. I mean, like many of you, HIT-GIRL was a stand-out favorite from KICK-ASS for us, and we thought she was just the epitome of bad-ass.
Not to mention we’re already major fans of the KICK-ASS comics to begin with, so to see HIT-GIRL getting her own solo book, well, that’s pretty darn cool.
In HIT-GIRL #1, Hit-Girl spins off into her own blood-soaked series by the creative team of KICK-ASS, MARK MILLAR and JOHN ROMITA JR. The story takes place between KICK-ASS VOL.1 & KICK-ASS VOL.2, as Mindy McCready tries to settle into life as a regular school-girl, but wants nothing more to be dispensing hot justice to the scum of New York City. Her mother and step-father think she’s doing her homework, but in reality, she’s taken Kick-Ass on as her sidekick, and is training him how to punch, shoot, and stab, just like her own Father would have wanted.

LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN CENTURY #3 2009 — ALAN MOORE concludes his stunning LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN series with this Wednesday’s CENTURY #3 2009.

We are huge fans of Alan Moore, and especially his LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN stories, which if you haven’t ever read, we really recommend grabbing the first one and giving them a go. Trust us, folks, if the movie scared you off these, you are missing out on something awesome. Some of the best comics of the past two decades here.
This week, the CENTURY trilogy, which we believe is meant to conclude Moore’s work on the LEAGUE, comes to a close, with the third chapter, 2009 (we still have 1910 and 1969 in stock and available now to get you caught up to this week’s 2009).
The narrative reaches its cataclysmic conclusion in London 2009. The magical child whose ominous coming has been foretold for the past century has now been born and has grown up to claim his dreadful heritage. His promised age of unending terror can commence, the world can now be ended, and there is no League, extraordinary or otherwise, to stand in his way.
The bitter, intractable war in Q’umar crawls bloodily to its fifth year, away in Kashmir, a Sikh terrorist wages holy war against Islam that must push the world into a nuclear holocaust, and in a London asylum there’s a patient who insists she has all the answers.

AVENGERS VS X-MEN: WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #12 – Kid Gladiator vs. the AVENGERS? You know it!

The tie-ins to AVENGERS VS X-MEN have been really top notch, and we’ve been super-impressed with the consistent quality that’s ran throughout the entire event.
And, with WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN continuing to be our favorite X-Book on the stands, we’re even more stoked about this tie-in hitting on Wednesday.
Jason Aaron continues to bring a very cool vibe, and quirky sense of style to the book, while the art team of Bachalo and Nick Bradshaw bring the book to life in a big way.
In this week’s #10, it’s KID GLADIATOR going after the AVENGERS single-handedly, and well, you know that’s not going to end well.

And, guess what? She’s not alone!

Picture this, a WATCHMEN for the KICK-ASS generation, a tale of a world where superheroes debuted in the early ’90s, and an entire generation of kids born in their wake, grew up in the shadows of gods among men. Now, bitter, resentful, and living in a world that’s seen it’s musicians, it’s athletes, and it’s artists become obsolete in the face of super humans, this new generation finds themselves lost, confused, and pissed off at the world around them.
