We are stoked, Third Eye Faithful, to announce that we’re going to be holding a very special in-store release party and signing for the release of PETER PANZERFAUST #2 on 3/17/12, with the creators, KURTIS J. WIEBE (writer of THE INTREPIDS & GREEN WAKE) and artist TYLER JENKINS (artist of SNOW ANGEL).
What’s PETER PANZERFAUST? This brand new IMAGE series set to debut on February 15th looks to be one of the most exciting new launches from IMAGE COMICS in 2012, and we’re stoked, with it’s unique concept that conjures up a very interesting mix of stuff like FABLES, and AMERICAN GODS mixed with INGLORIOUS BASTARDS. In other words, it’s a WORLD WAR II epic of kick-assery, featuring Peter Pan himself, and his platoon of Lost Boys, as they battle a very sinister hook-handed Nazi bastard. And, it looks incredible. The characterization of Peter brings to mind a very David Tennant-esque DOCTOR WHO like madman who is out to bring the war straight to the Nazi bastards.
The story starts with the City of Calais, the first city in France to fall to the Germans in 1940. A mysterious American boy named Peter rallies a handful of French orphans and not only do they plan to work together to survive Europe’s darkest hour, but they’re going one better: they’re bringing the fight directly to the Nazi scum.
We’ll be hosting Kurtis and Tyler on Saturday 3/17, and we know that many of you are also fans of Kurtis’s other recent work on series like THE INTREPIDS and GREEN WAKE, so be sure to bring your copies of those with you when you pop by.
